John Benac
Biography:
John Benac is a ECLSS Logistics Engineer for the International Space Station program and a Boeing employee living and working in the Houston Clear Lake area. He has two awesome kids and a beautiful wife. John has been hell-bent on pushing humans further outward into space since getting hooked on the Marathon games in Middle school and having that fascination cauterized in a boy scout trip to the Johnson Space Center when he was 15.
He is fascinated by architectures of crewed missions beyond earth orbit, particularly Mars, and is also painfully aware of the non-technical problems needed to be solved to make those systems a reality. For this reason, he created actionforspace.com to provide the online layperson an outlet for their own hell-bent desires to promote space exploration to the common man and the politician. He joins OpenNASA because he believes that, like embers in a fire, the closer we draw to each other the more energy we will have to ignite passion in other people.
